​After having had children of my own, I came to the realization that it's very difficult to bring my children to live concerts. Several contributing factors to this are that traditional music venues are neither child nor stroller friendly, evening concerts are performed too late for small children, musical selections are often too long for a child's attention span, and children tend to get easily excitable making it nearly impossible for them to sit quietly and listen in a normal concert environment.

​As a response to all of these obstacles getting in the way of including music in young children’s lives, Petite Concerts was created. The idea was to present live, classically leaning, multi-cultural concert experiences to young children as music education, a musical outing for parents and their little ones locally and as a way to help cultivate music audiences of the future.
